For one adobe is better for other corel. Im not a graphic designer but i use ilustratore cause got a mac. Anyway it's better to be the best in "one" then "know something" on both sides.
Dear Vijay:
What you have posted is a very valid, and often argued over subject. 10 years in the Middle East made me a die-hard MAC fan (bosses bought the hardware and software).
The last one year, I am operating-outta-home (my personal twist to OOH), in Cochin, india, and am relying on a windows operating system. CorelDraw is all around. Illustrator in spurts. However, I would say you should get your goals straight.
Where do you wan't to be tomorrow? India, if so where in India? Find out what's the software that's ticking there. Abroad? Rest, assured, it is 99% MAC, at least for glamour sake.
All said, study whichver you like. They are NOT so badly part that you cannot master one, if you know the other, in a couple of weeks, max.
AND, no frets. If ur friend does something in coredraw and you need to work on the file in Illustrator, it's no big deal. AND vive versa. That's what 'save as' and 'export' options are for.
All the best, my friend.
Regards,
Lal Jacob
