Windows users will not understand this... And that's about 90% of all people that have a computer.

www.jackmancer.com You do not sleep?

Well, you understood it. who are you to say others won't? btw I think that anyone who uses the undo button independent of being a mac or a pc, is probably in some kind of artistic industry, which is dominated by mac users. I like it.

I respectfully disagree. I know that not everyone who owns a computer knows what command+z or even control +z stands for, be it mac or pc. But the ones who do know what its for, who use it, can get the message, independent of their operating system. after all, we did. There has never been an ad directed toward 100% of the population of anywhere, I think this works fine. Maybe works best as an internet ad?

Jaap Grolleman's picture 6306 pencils

Blabla. This is crazy. Of course you cannot direct an ad towards 100% of the population, but you always want to achieve the best result with an ad and this won't do the job. 50% of Mac users will get it, so that's 5% of all people with a computer. Not great target audience is it?

hahah good one

So this ad is saying "undo", right? But that's freaking ABORTION, NOT BIRTH CONTROL!!!

AmOgodzzz's picture 834 pencils

Plan B is not birth control. It is meant to be used as emergency contraceptive for up to 72 hours after an egg has been fertilized. Hence, the colloquial name, "The Morning After Pill." (This is why the drug was so controversial in the US, as right-wing conservatives equated it with abortion.) Therefore, this ad makes sense, because Plan B is like an undo button for pregnancy.

This ad is clever and definitely proof that drug ads being funny/creative. You should do a version for PC users as well and this would be a great ad for your book.

PS: Don't listen to adabortion and you'll go far. He doesn't know what he's talking about at all.

thanks, you guys.

ps. no need to discredit adabortion, I couldn't expect a different comment from someone who carries it as his name

but seriously, do you guys think this might work better as an internet ad? come to think of it, jackmancer is not wrong, not everybody is going to pick this up. But by placing correctly in the appropriate websites/strategic marketing I think it could work, no?

very apple-user specific! it took me a while to get the CTRL Z thing!

adabortion's picture 621 pencils

HE SAID IT WAS A BIRTH CONTROL PILL YOU IDIOT! IF THIS MEDICINE IS FOR ABORTION SO BE IT. I AM ENTITLED TO MY OPINION! AmOgodzzz, I think if you take this pill you could go a long way! Or you may as well UNDO your advertising hopes.

FYI pdavies, my AOTW name was inspired by the hundreds of people in here who do nothing but ABORT the posted ads.

i'm with adabortion. thinking about 'undoing + pregnancy' immediately leads to abortion. what you mean is 'preventing pregnancy', right?

anyway, ask yourself: your ad is targeting women. is this convincing women? you are talking about unwanted pregnancy here - a very touchy subject. pressing two keys to undo some stuff you did on the computer is a completely different world and is hard to understand - and very close to bad taste if understood correctly

I must admit that Wordnerd actually knows better to handle and express himself compared to me. I shouldn't have behaved as I have. Pardon me guys.

the product is not about abortion. It sells in pharmacies legally just as anything else. Amogodzzz's description of the product is correct, it's an emergency contraceptive after having had sex. maybe it needs copy in the bottom to explain what it does. Birth control/medicine ads usually have them (probably even have to have them as an obligation)

I prefer having this which means something, rather than a woman (often blonde) staring at the sea running in a beach which is always a stupid generic image

Interesting. Funny spin on a serious subject. Appropriate? Probably not. Who is the target market? Can't just be Mac users. and the whole woman aspect is introduced with the pink? The type on the bottom feels a little too goofy for a Plan B ad. You should focus on what the product is. A "Plan B". Not to undo something, but to be act as a backup plan.
