Advertising scene in Prague?
Both Sides of t... (141 pencils | Tue, 2009-11-03 03:39Hi,
I'm a copywriter of Indian nationality. I write in English. Due to certain circumstances I might have to move to Prague. Would anybody know whether agencies there hire English Copywriters? The answer to this might be of big help in making the move.

Not really. All ads are in Czech. You could be hired as a conceptualizer.
Is there anything such as a Conceptualizer, Ivan? Is it a cross between Copywriting and Art Direction?
Hi Ivan,
Thanks for the response. It is much appreciated.
So there is a tiny possibility to get a job in advertising there. Perhaps, I'll try my dumb luck.
Cheers!
Hi Guest,
I believe what Ivan was trying to say here is that whether you are a copywriter or an art director, you are first an ideas person. If your work is strong enough, any good creative agency will try and find you a vacancy on their team. Anyway, in today's times the line between an art director and a copywriter is rapidly diminishing. Of course, a writer may not be expected to acquire fantastic Photoshop skills, but a good eye for visualization is an advantage. And the reverse holds true for art directors.
