Working abroad... where to start?

Hi there,

I've been working as a fulltime copywriter for about 3,5 years in Turkey/Istanbul.
I've worked for some well known big network agencies and made many campaigns.

I'm really get bored of the fast-food advertising. No time, no budget, no courage, no vision, etc.
It is like the kingdom of the "average man".

I have the passion, desire and energy to restart a fight. I'll do whatever it takes!
So, i'm going abroad to work. The first destination is LA.

What can you advise for a copywriter whom native language is not English?
What is the starting point? Arranging an intern, looking for a full time or what? Or what?
