Who's hiring?

I have been taking portfolio classes at the School of Visual Arts in New York and hope to have my book ready by the end of this year (certainly not ready yet). When it comes time to call on agencies, does anyone know which of the top ones are hiring in the US (ie BBDO, JWT, DDB, CP+B)? Also, I am willing to relocate to the UK, Australia or New Zealand (but certainly not Singapore). Is the ad industry there doing better than in the US or have those regions also been hit hard by the global economic meltdown?

I think Asia was hit the least and it's recovering as far as I can see.
