I like the Headline, but i think you need some visuals in there. Maybe have the different sauces with different pictures of the cultures on the bottle. Or maybe do it as a series of ads that have the desired sauce in front of the background of the culture it came from. i.e. teriyaki sauce with a picture of Asian culture. You could even just leave the yellow background but then have the desired sauce by a dish that comes from that culture. These are just a few ideas shot out at random. You also may want to raise the logo up as well, since it's in danger of being cut off. It's a nice initial concept though. :)
Yeah I could use a pack shot, thanks for the feedback Fixit. I ust don't want the layout to become too cluttered
I'm not a fan of this one. I find it a bit weird.
When you do a copy based ad, come up with way more than just one.
@ Shawali thanks for the honest feedback. It comes from the English saying we have "get a taste of the culture," but maybe you're right and it doesn't fly/too convoluted.
I always felt that using a popular saying for the copy is like using a stock picture for a the visual.
@Shawali you're right but it's not a straight copy of the saying, it twists the idea of "taste" using syllepsis.
what are you selling and where do I get it. show me something cool and I'll buy it. if I just happened to know what sharwood makes I might smile a little, but once I saw the script, I'd turn the page, nothing fun to see and I'm not going to waste my time reading stuff
You're probably right Rob. I tried to capture the USP and leave it open ended enough for interest. Im trying to showcase a little copy cause I want to be a copywriter rather than do all juxtapositions of things within picture ads. It's hard to match the needs of an ad, all the business check boxes (lead the reader to the product, show them what is unique etc) whilst trying to make it satisfying/witty/arty enough to stand out and be considered a decent ad, it always feels like a battle between these two requirements for me. Thanks for the comments everyone I'm taking them all onboard and I really appreciate it!
Meh.
It doesn't grab me. The bright yellow doesn't help. The mention of the word tongue so early in the sentence just makes me think of a big fat tongue. And the fact that the logo doesn't really say it is sauce would have lost me completely if I didn't read the forum title.
