Millions of tons of mismanaged plastic waste, e-waste and even household rubbish are shipped illegally to low-income countries. Most of them are burned. Many materials contain toxic chemicals that have been linked to miscarriages and cancer.
These countries environments and their people are suffering as a result of our need for plastic and we should not allow this to happen.
