Description
The war in Ukraine forced more than 12 million to leave their homes and seek asylum in many countries including Bulgaria. They are mainly women and children – vulnerable, lacking information and guidance, and at risk of human trafficking and exploitation.
Traffickers often take advantage of the refugees’ need to find accommodation and jobs and lure them with fake offers for help and support. The Activate Project together with Animus Association aim to enhance the prevention of trafficking.
Our campaign targets Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria. Its main goal is to keep them aware of all online traps, and their human and labour rights in our country. Its warning headline is “Not everyone is here to help you.” The campaign runs on social media and is connected to a hotline and a specially designed website with reliable information.
We have also developed a set of stickers for the most popular amongst Ukrainian people messaging platform Telegram to help them communicate fast and safely in cases of need and emergency.
