Samsung inadvertently promotes the iPhone 5

It's always dangerous to make a comparison ad when your product is too close to the competition as it may promote the competition as much as your own. This is certainly the case with this Samsung ad that is suggesting that S3 has more features. On the other hand the dark screened iPhone looks elegant, mysterious and inviting next to he Galaxy which feels dated.

I don't think the design of the Galaxy looks dated. The design of the iPhone (4) is a lot older. Anyway, this is long discussion point.

I think the ad is clever though; the specs are better (though slightly similar), and I think specs of tech will continue to be very similar, so it'll be a choice for operating systems.

I find your comment tenfold more amusing than the ad.

We can debate which product looks nicer, but the message was more about functionality. Unfortunately, they just listed the features, missing the chance to demonstrate them.

NFC, for example, is Near Field Communication. Sounds technical until or unless you explain how it enables a better in-store shopping experience.

And that's the point. This ad is about the product, not what the product can do for you.

Any one of those features could be turned into a great ad on its own.

you and I both know Ivan's nailed it on the head with this post. henceforth apple just loves samsung - they make apple lotsa money in court battles and they constantly get reinforced that they are at the forefront of style by having a copycat tag along and copy everything they do. functionality? get a grip pal. i sure as hell hope you're not in advertising.

Or... Samsung isn't going up against Apple at all. At least not obviously.

By tactically themselves as the 'competition' to Apple, Samsun is strategically gunning to dominate the Android market.

I have no clue what you're talking about. You can't even spell Samsung right.

Yes it doesn't. Samsung is helping sell Apple.
