Ok, there was a thread that mentioned this, so now I will write this out all the way.
The idea is to have an award ceremony of our own. Where Ivan and 4 CD's are the main jury's. The main jury then consists of 5 members all of Ivan's choosing. This jury will make up for 50% of the score for the ads and will also pick the nominee's for each category.
The other 50% of the votes are made up of the registered users of Ads of the World. They can vote via a poll system.
There will be 3 awards for each category. Gold, Silver and Bronze. The name for these awards is not yet stated.
The awards will be held each quarter. So there will be 4 sessions in a year. And host (writer) for each session will change each session so every award session will have its own atmosphere.

Now I only ask of you, humble user to suggest names for the awards. The best will be chosen. I hope Ivan will contact me in due time for the names of jurists.

I'm not clear about the host (writer) idea, can you clarify?
Like at the Oscars you have somebody who gives the show a look, an atmospear. I can already imagine how Joseph Campbell could write a completely diffrent introduction to the award session than you as an example.

Ok, the internets is an option. but maybe to give it moreover a look of identity towards 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Maybe:
1st: the .com award
2nd: the .net award
3rd: the .org award

This naming is a bit confusing, but I get the drift.
Um, how about, Ads of the World Awards
This sounds good to me. Bit too generic, but at least it's descriptive. Imagine you call a client and say:
- Hello Sir, I have good news! We won three internets!
- ...
- Sir, are you there?
Much better:
- Hello Sir, I have good news! We won the Ads of the World Gold Cup!
- Wow, that's great. Btw, your contract is extended for another 6 month.
- Thank you sir!
i would call it the "IVAN AWARD"
i mean do you know another IVAN that did what ivan is doing for the ad community
so if it is a tribute to ivan's site it has to hold the name of the creator

How about WTFA Awards or something like GMTA Awards?
Something with a little more internet-y like sound to it.

The use of 'at' by truecopy sounds good. "Gold/Silver/Bronze @AOTW Award" maybe?
Also, with it being an online award thing, how about a Web Special along with the usual G/S/B for campains and ads using the online medium only. Or would they be included in with the rest as normal.

An example of how the award will be called: Online Gold@AotW Award
15 awards will be given quarterly.
To qualify you need to have your ad released and be published on AotW in the given quarter plus or minus 30 days.
We will have 7 judges. I will chair, but will not have veto power and will act mostly as a moderator. 6 top CDs will be selected to complete the jury. One working (not being a citizen) on each continent: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe and Australia(+NZ).
The votes given by public will be taken into account for only 50% into the decision, as any public voting system can be cheated. If nothing else, I could ask 100 friends to vote for my crappy ad for example. This doesn't mean I deserve an award.
First award will be given for the Q1 2007, but it is possible that we may not have a public voting system in place by than.
Please comment and recommend CDs for the jury!
I'd like to recommend Vincent Raffray from Tonic Dubai for Asia, as Dubai is becoming the latest emerging advertising market in Asia. On the other hand I feel I'm missing out on far east opinions with this choice.
You'll have to pick someone right? so pick Vincent for this one, and you can ask the others for the next ones.

I think it would be a good idea to have AotW in the name.
OK, if I may, I'd like to submit some ideas for the award names -
Gold - The AotW Midas Award (Midas Touch)
Silver - The AotW Artemis Award (Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon, commonly associated with silver)
Bronze - The AotW Warrior Award (Bronze Age Reference)
Might be too lame, but just my thoughts -

I don't think beautifully crafted print ads should be up against say, a cool billboard idea.

None, surprisingly. It's weird, I actually get hot walking to work each morning. It's pretty humid early in the day.
OK, seeming that the relevancy of this topic is seemingly reducing. I'm firing things up again. We all had some tim eto think things over. We have an idea for the award name:
Gold @AOTW award
Silver @AOTW award
Bronze @AOTW award
Now I need a general approval.
And Ivan needs to do some thinking right about now. Whats it gonna be boy? Yes or NO....Let me sleep on it, baby baby let me sleep on it.
You still need a panel of judges. So if we complete this, we can make posters and ads to promote this and distribute them around the web so that the big agency's who already heard of us (yes I think we have influence) keep track of the awards.
