Because it's too easy to kill an ad when you are anonymous.
It's true that even with a pseudonym you are a little anonymous, but you can be tracked. With the time, people know you, and can interpret correctly what you are saying.
There are more reasons. Anonymous comments may turn obscene and it'd degrade our poor site and its credibility may be lost. Ivan, please, don't allow, please.
Thanks for all the comments. I just want to serve your wish, I don't have a personal preference. It's more work for me if there are anonymous comments because the spammers can get through easier and I have to weed them all out, but I can deal with that.
I also wouldn't mind a 24 to 48 hour waiting period before newbies can post comments. That would slow down all that fake high praise and voting for your own agencies ads.
So let me get this straight...
...You're letting anonymous posters, vote on whether anonymous posters, should be alllowed to leave comments? Isn't that a bit like letting the fox watch the hen house?
If I were not to allow anonymous posters to vote, it would not be fair. You can't decide on an issue with only one party voting for it. But either way, it seems we have a decision. We only need 12 more votes and even if all of them were "yes", "no" would win.
Based on the poll. Anonymous users will not be allowed to post comments. But nothing is lost, registering is easy and only takes 2 minutes. And, it will give you more options than just commenting. Try it out!
